Late Night Thoughts
It’s a beautiful starry night; I wish you could see it. I have an exam tomorrow. Am I prepared? Far from it. Am I preparing? Not at all.
I’m here sitting on a bench crafted with concrete and metallic rods; painted beautifully in green and carrying the logo of the university on it.
I’m looking up into the sky and beholding the wonders of the cosmos; the uncountable, amazing, twinkling lights from millions of miles away.
I’ve always been fascinated with the workings of the universe; the stars, planets, asteroids and comets.
When I was much younger, I will search about the universe and planets on the Encarta kids encyclopaedia installed on my father’s laptop. It was during this times of genuine curiosity that I got to understand that many of the stars we see have planets orbiting them. Can you just imagine the innumerable number of planetary systems?
Even now, as I look into the void of space disturbed at intervals by the illumination of what appears to be tiny dots; I wonder if on a planet millions of miles away some sentient being is looking up into its own skies and wondering the same thing.
Are we truly alone?
